“An Impression” & “C’mon, Stimmung”
I had a terrible urge to be really fucking sarcastic and out there with this… whatever this is that I’m doing right now, but something changed as soon as I started to stare at the screen. I don’t have it in me. So, here are the facts and nothing but (kind of.)
2010 saw L.A. two piece No Age at their best with the release of “Everything In Between” a record full of beautiful melodies married to jarring squeels and white noises. How’s that for a description? A little much? I know, I felt it too but I’m too lazy to go back and do it over. Anyways. It was one of the best records of the year. Fact.
2013 sees L.A. two piece No Age folding and packaging 10,000 copies of their new one “An Object” in their living room and on their kitchen table (I always picture these guys as being roomates ala’ Felix and Oscar.) They did 5,000 LP’s and 5,000 CD’s. Do you know how fucking hard that is to do? I have mucho respect for this feat as I was bitching and moaning the whole time through while packaging the 100 copies of any given self release by any given band of mine put out at any given time. Fact
So here’s two very different tracks from the upcoming, sure to be a masterwork “An Object” by No Age. “An Impression” is all floating around with a simple skeleton beat and lulling strings while “C’mon, Stimmung” is like fireworks on a Friday night. Par for the course for these guys. Availible on-line and in stores tomorrow Aug. 20 ya’ll. Dig it.
